A Conversation with Lisa:

Can you share a bit about your firm and what makes this year especially meaningful or something you’re most thankful for in your practice?

‍

My firm is a small town firm with just one solicitor. Kristina is an incredibly hard working woman who welcomed me with open arms in February. She took a chance on me as I came from another firm as the secretary. I needed a change and was eager to learn the role of a Law Clerk. I am thankful for the last 8 months of learning and finding my passion.

‍

What’s been a standout moment or major success for your team this year that you’re most proud of?

‍

A major success for this year has been learning a new roll and kicking butt at it. I have gone from not knowing how to close a sale file, to being able to complete a sale file with no problems (well...I mean not needing assistance. All files seem to have problems these days) and have moved into purchases and refinances.

What’s one piece of advice you’d share with other firms, and outside of work, what’s something you’re feeling especially thankful for this season?

‍

Find people who are willing to help. We are all in this work together. By having people to bounce ideas and issues off of and to assist when a challenge arises is crucial for a successful day in our ever changing role. I am so thankful that Kristina took a leap of faith on me. I am also thankful that I realized that I can do hard things and am still capable of learning.
